Novena (from Latin: Novem, meaning nine) is an act of religious pious devotion originating in ancient Christianity, often consisting of private or public prayers repeated for nine successive days in belief of obtaining a special intercessory grace (usually through Our Lord Jesus, Our Holy Mother or the saints).
This Novena is made to Our Blessed Lord of Divine Mercy.
It is a lovely booklet with an image of Our Blessed Lord on the front. Within the book is contained the popular Novena which is recited each day, in conjunction with the Chaplet.
There are beautiful illustrations throughout and other prayers, including the chaplet itself, the 3 o’clock prayer, the litany to the Divine Mercy and a brief account of the origin of the devotion as revealed to Saint Faustina Kowalska.
A really lovely book which will further enhance this popular devotion.
