This image of Our Lady is known as “Miraculous”, usually because this is the form She appears in on the Miraculous medal.

The form of the  medal was shown by Our Lady, to a French nun called Catherine Laboure, in 1830.  It was by means of this medal that Mary wanted to remind people of the love and protection She offers us. Wearing the medal would be our gesture of acceptance.

So, the image on this lovely ‘stained-glass’ effect plaque, should remind us of Our Mother who loves and cares and intercedes for us, with Her Divine Son.
