It begins with the basic prayers like the Our Father, the Hail Mary, Angel Guardian prayer, Grace before and after meals, etc. and moves into prayers associated with the Sacrament of Confession, providing the child with the “Form” and a small examination of Conscience for them to undertake before receiving the sacrament, followed by a prayer of thanksgiving. This is followed by a small prayer of Adoration to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament – the introduction of children to Jesus in the Tabernacle is so important, so that they realise they have always got somewhere to go and someone to talk to, in every Catholic Church.
