Today you receive a special blessing from God.  Your family and friends share with you the hope of eternal life, and they have brought you to the church to share that joy.  They will guide you in love to grow in life before God.

The christening water is the sign of new life, the candle symbolises the light of faith, and the blessing with holy oil is a welcome into the people of God.
