The sacrament of Baptism is a sacrament of Initiation by which we are made children of God. What an amazing thought and reality.

We have a variety of Baptismal candles, most of which are suited to an infant or child’s Baptism, and while this is also suitable for those situations, this particular one is appropriate for an older child or even an adult entering into the Church.

It is a white candle, with a decorative transfer on the front of it, depicting Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, accompanied by a brief prayer written in gold alongside the illustration of the sacrament.

The candle sits in a sturdy cardboard canister. The front has a very simple illustration of Baptism and the back side has provision for the Child’s name and the dates for each of the three sacraments they will receive.

This is truly a wonderful gift as the Child/Adult begins their new life in Christ. By recording the dates of each sacrament, it enables them to honour the anniversary of each sacrament for the rest of their lives.
