Description
This particular “scapular” is from Brazil and is a little different to the traditional Wool Scapular that Our Lady requested we wear.
This one comprises a medal on a either end of a black cord. One medal shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the other depicts the Blessed Mother of Mt Carmel.
The Brown Scapular is a very important sacramental in the Church. To the person seeking to be enrolled, there is a short ceremony involved which can be administered by your local Parish priest.
The Brown Scapular was given to Saint Simon Stock in 1251, by Our Lady herself. To be clothed in it shows our devotion to the Mother of God and it is a source of spiritual protection – something we all stand in need of and will benefit from.
Measures 38.5cm in full length.
