St Francis is a saint know and loved by many. He is often depicted amongst the characters of nature; trees, flowers, birds and animals. Rightly so, he did indeed love God’s creatures. His love for them and affinity with them stemmed from and lead back to their Creator. He saw all things in the light and love of God.
However, in addition to his love for all things created, Francis had a burning love for God and this earned him the title “the Seraphic Saint”. He bore the wounds of Our Lord Jesus, known as the Stigmata. They are the wounds in the hands, feet and side as received by Jesus at His crucifixion. He was a man who embraced wholly, the Gospel message and sought to live it out to the full in his life.
There are numerous books written on this wonderful saint, this one in particular for younger readers, but the information contained within its pages will educate both the reader and the read to.
