This moving account relates the true story of Takashi Nagai, a survivor of the terrible bombing inflicted on Nagasaki, Japan in 1945.

He was a pioneer in radiology research and a convert to the Catholic Faith. Living in the rubble of the ruined city and suffering from leukemia, due to over-exposure to radiation, Nagai lived out the remainder  of his remarkable life by bringing physical and spiritual healing to his war-weary people.

Fr Paul Glynn, the author, is a Marist priest who served as a missionary in Japan for twenty-five years. He has written five other books including the Ignatius title Healing Fire of Christ.

He has been a regular participant at the Auckland Eucharistic Convention, for many years. A holy and humble priest.
