Description

This beautiful Italian-made Chalice is 24 karat gold-plated over brass base metal.  The hammered finish contributes to the aesthetic qualities of this particular Chalice.

This cup-shaped vessel or goblet is used at the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to contain the Precious Blood of Christ.

For centuries it was made of precious material; if it was not of gold, the interior of the cup was gold-plated, as is fitting.

The precious contents of the Chalice should be afforded great veneration and as such, the receptacle used for this purpose needs to be fitting.  Hence, the tradition of the Chalice being formed from precious metal, is to be highly favoured over the less appropriate varieties such as glass, wood or steel.

Measures 18cm in height and the cup has a diameter of 10cm.
